First let’s start by saying that I too am fed up with the ridiculous beard invasion where every run-of-the-mill guy out there has tried to pull off a beard. Yes, it was the most on-trend accessory you could pull on last season, and by “last season” I mean if it doesn’t suit you or you don’t do it right, then shave it already. That said, I have to admit that my love for a well-groomed beard has not died with the trend. I love my beard and I put a lot of effort, money and time to keep it neat.

As Andrew Richdale said:
“ The key is not over analysing it. Nothing too manicured or manscaped. Nothing too wild and overgrown. You want to look like you’ve let go. A little, at least.”
Chances are you’re going to need a little sculpting here and there.
A little on the cheeks, a little on the neck depending on the kind of look you’re going for. Ideally, you’d leave that all to a pro and by “pro” I mean HOMMER beard grooming products.
Take notes boys!
First you ‘ll need a shampoo and a leave-in conditioner to cleanse and moisturise your facial hair. Don’t worry, HOMMER got you covered. Step two is the use of HOMMER’s Hair&Beard balmade something between a balm and a styling pomade, ideal for
taming and grooming wild, unruly beards or for those who want a relaxed styling on short to medium length hair. For those who want to stylise their beard and moustache by creating texture and adding volume I would definitely suggest HOMMER’s Hair&Moustache matte paste.
Now, let’s break it down. Keep scribbling down notes guys because the following beard-care tricks will keep your facial hair looking resplendent.
First and Foremost, Be Patient with your beard
A truly epic beard is the product of self-restraint. When you first start growing a beard, resist the urge to trim or style, and leave it untouched for the first 4-6 weeks. This will allow the hair to grow in evenly and help you pick a style that suits its length and thickness.
Match Your Beard to Your Face Shape
If you have no idea what shape of beard best matches your face, consult o good barber after the first month of growth, and choose a final style that complements your face shape.
If you ‘re going to do it, trim it right
Invest in a quality trimmer kit and find the right techniques to trim like a pro.
Wash It Regularly
This is especially important not just in the early stages of growth. Get a good beard shampoo and conditioner like the ones I use by HOMMER. Its epic formula with hemp oil is created with natural ingredients of the highest quality that cleanse, moisturise and protect your facial hair and skin.
Love Thy Beard Oil
Nothing tames a beard like regular use of beard oil. Oil conditions facial hair to make it softer and shinier. HOMMER’s beard oil is guaranteed to make your facial hair look, feel and smell seductive. Made with hemp oil, barbar fig, argan and other natural oils that regenerate and protect your beard and skin and enhanced with the original HOMMER scent, a sophisticated mix of woody, bitter chocolate and vetiver tones (You will smell like a sexy woodsman!), HOMMER’s beard oil is a tried-and-true favourite.
Train Your Beard
A regular well-technique trim will maintain the shape you want to go for, but in order to keep your beard in line, a daily rubdown with a comb or beard brush will wrangle stubborn hairs, training them to grow in a downward direction.
Never neglect the Moustache
Unless you’ve chosen a chinstrap—and I really hope you didn’t—growing an epic beard also means growing an equally epic moustache. To keep it looking neat, trim the area under your nose with a pair of grooming scissors, and keep it naturally sculpted with a medium-hold wax, like HOMMER’s Hair&Moustache matte paste.
Eat for your beard
You know that cliché saying that goes “beauty comes from the inside”? Well, It’s true! Our facial hair is made from protein and fat and heavily reliant on Vitamins B5, B3, and B9. Yes, your diet is crucial. That means lean meats, nuts, egg yolks, milk, and plenty of leafy greens.
